Yay or Nay: Lotus Sanitizing System…
ByWhile at Sur La Table in Palm Beach yesterday, I had a little one on one demo with this system. I’m becoming quite the little pest about “is the food really clean”. With all the recent drama with food born illnesses and stuff just not being “fresh”, my curiosity is peaked. I’m still doing my research but I put it to you, blog readers: Yay or Nay – what do YOU think about the Lotus Sanitizing System.
Do you think it works? Have you heard anything about it? Do you know anyone that has one?
Speak your mind in the comments!

To be honest, I’ve never even heard about it!

Of course it works…couldn’t call it a sanitizer without passing EPA protocol and getting their registration number. You’ll also be amazed how much longer your produce lasts and it will also taste better! Buying organic, you need this for sure as it rids of bacteria and viruses…and the natural pesticides they use…buying regular produce, rest assured, it even gets reduces pesticides on these fruits and vegetables. Then, of course, there is the spray bottle. Also EPA registered as a sanitizer so it does more than clean well, it kills germs on contact along the way. And its just water and oxygen, how much more natural can you get?

@ Auburn Kat: Me either until *bam* it was around EVERY cooking corner. I’m such a “Monk” lately that I’ve been intriqued.
@ Steve Hengsperger: I’m so honored you dropped by the blog. Of all people, YOU would be the guru to chat with about it. So – my next question is will there be an upgrade??? Some systems look different than others – just curious. Thank you again for droppin’ by.

Most interesting. But yet another appliance to fill the cabinets. My MIL swears by the veggie wash that comes in a spray. I haven’t tried it myself though.

Lys,
I’m new at this blogging thing and need to figure out a system to keep on top of them all!
We do have new systems out now. The model at Sur La Table is our latest. It has a couple of new features and is about 25% smaller than our previous models. We are working on a spray bottle only application that will take up even less countertop space, but if you think of it, once you use up all those cleaners you have down there and realize that the lotus can do it all, you have all this space now available to store your lotus!

Lys, my apologies, I am new at this blogging thing…been busy spending too much time in development of the lotus!

Sanjay Gupta did a show last year on CNN about veggie washes and just how ineffective they are. I would guess that if you have a bottle of that under your sink you probably have a whole bunch of other specialized cleaners to. Use them up, don’t buy new ones but see how well the lotus outperforms all those cleaners and in return you end up with a nice spot to store your lotus.
