Question to the Readers: Kitchen Mishaps
ByWhat was your worst kitchen mishap?
My confession - while trying out Ingrid Hoffman’s Chipotle Eggs Benedict recipe, this gal here SCRAMBLED THE HOLLANDAISE… Don’t even get me started about separating eggs, ugh! While I’m thinking about it, anyone have any foolproof hollandaise tips?

Kitchen mishaps? There have been so many, how could I limit it to just one! Let’s see…there was the time in law school when I blew up a pan of chicken cacciatore. I was scraping it off of the ceiling for months! Then, there was the time I almost burned the house down while making homemade marshmallows (the fire dept. wasn’t amused). And, let’s not forget about all of the cuts and burns (some 2nd degree) all over my hands…Sheesh! I’m a kitchen menace!

I once made a cake and the cake mix overflowed in the pan while in the oven. Such a mess to clean up!

@Susan – you, kitchen menace – NEVER! Hopefully the firemen were cute
@Stephanie – oh man, that does sound like a mess. I’m making a mental note to always put a sheet pan under the cake pan to catch any “spills”
